Photography is a passion of mine. I also sell my pictures…I think I made $18.56.

Head over to www.davespics.com for most of my favorite shots.

Red Apple Rest

This was a hugely popular place on Route 17 for people traveling back and forth to the Catskills…..When the NY Thruway was built it took cars away and it died…very similar to old Route 66 out west. This is how it looks today 10.1.11

Artshow

A buddy of mine took some of my pictures and “planted” them over a booth he visited at a recent art show…..Maybe my prints would do well in this setting…anyway it’s nice to dream. Thanks Jerry!

New Member of the Family

Some say we are only as sick as our secrets so I am telling you about my new lens! My new baby is a Nikon 14-24 2.8 and these are the very first shots…expect some serious wide angle photography in the weeks ahead.

This is a portion of my friends guitar collection…I don’t like that I cut a few off on the sides. Still learning…

This is one of those spots that I pass every day and have always appreciated…

Seasons

Spring is in full swing here in Northern NJ and I have not had a chance to snap the flowering trees and sprouts that are sprouting but I do have a library of pictures that resonate in my head when I think about the seasons. If you have Robins in your area pay attention to them this time of year. They are feisty and very active, building nests…soon they will get protective of their eggs and soon after they will get even more active looking for food.

In a previous year I saw a rustling in the grass and this little guy couldn’t fly yet. He meandered up my boys swingset….

The Mom (I assume it was the Mom, the Dad probably left by now) was not happy with me but I outweighed her by over 200 pounds so I was no match. I got even a little closer before I left them alone to let nature take its course.
